Trouble Losing Weight?

Gone are the days of "Calories In versus Calories Out." Sure that simple statement may work for some people but most probably have difficulty losing weight even with that. I hear it often from many that state that they are overweight despite only eating one meal a day. Weight loss is dependent on hormones and insulin resistance. If they are not in control, your body basically signals the fat tissue to stay put. Weight loss is also dependent on the type of food you eat and what that food is composed of. 100 calories of ice cream is different than 100 calories of lean turkey. To truly lose weight, you have to take many things into account. Our weight management program is based on the principles of education and accountability. If there is a hormonal imbalance or signs of insulin resistance, we often use safe medications for a short term period while we gear your body for weight loss. I hope this information is useful in many people's journey to better health with the new year!
